In 2014, Gro Clinics opened its first hair transplant clinic in Sydney, aiming to change how Australians approach hair restoration. With one doctor and one nurse, our mission was clear: deliver ethical, medically guided care for hair loss. Today, that mission continues - across a national network of doctor-led clinics in Australia and New Zealand.
Over the past decade, Gro Clinics has grown from a single clinic to a network with locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, the Gold Coast, and Auckland. A non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure that uses a patient’s own blood components to support scalp health and stimulate areas of concern. The aim is to assist in creating a more supportive environment for hair follicles.
Please note: Individual results vary. A consultation is required to determine suitability.
PRF is a natural, autologous treatment where a small sample of your blood is processed to concentrate platelets and growth factors. These are then used in targeted areas of the scalp to support hair and skin health.
Hair Loss Stage: Mild to Moderate
Treatment Type: Minimally-Invasive
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a regenerative treatment that uses your body’s own blood concentrate—without additives or anticoagulants. Compared to traditional platelet-based therapies, PRF provides a more gradual release of growth factors over time.
This extended-release profile may assist in supporting scalp function, particularly in areas experiencing early signs of thinning. Many clients choose PRF as part of a broader plan to support overall hair and scalp health. Suitability depends on individual diagnosis and treatment goals.
PRF therapy involves a three-step clinical process:
1️⃣ Blood Collection – A small blood sample is taken, similar to a routine blood test.
2️⃣ Fibrin Processing – The sample is processed using a centrifuge to concentrate platelets, white blood cells, and fibrin.
3️⃣ Targeted Application – The PRF is applied to identified areas of the scalp, typically via injection, under clinical supervision.
Total treatment time: ~45–60 minutes
Pain level: Generally well-tolerated; numbing available
Recovery: Most clients resume normal activity immediately
Disclaimer: Treatment results may vary from person to person. It’s always best to consult with a qualified doctor or hair restoration specialist to determine the most suitable option for your individual needs and hair goals.
✔ Drug-Free – Uses your own blood concentrate without synthetic additives.
✔ Gradual Growth Factor Release – Designed to support scalp tissue over time.
✔ May Stimulate Follicles – Intended to support areas showing signs of early thinning.
✔ Scalp-Targeted Application – Delivers concentrated components directly to selected regions.
✔ Minimally Invasive – No surgery or long downtime involved.
✔ Supports Regenerative Treatment Plans – Works with your body’s own biology.
✔ Updated Protocol vs PRP – PRF uses a slower spin process and omits anticoagulants for a different release profile.
✔ Often Used for Early Hair Concerns – Commonly chosen by those with mild to moderate signs of hair thinning.
✔ May Be Used Alongside Other Treatments – PRF is sometimes combined with therapies like LED or prescription options as part of a comprehensive plan.
