From the Sunshine Coast to Spring Hill

Travelling from the Sunshine Coast for a Hair Transplant: What Happens and Where

Whether you're in Mooloolaba, Nambour, Caloundra or Noosa, the trip is a drive or a train ride rather than a flight. The times below are measured from Maroochydore: Caloundra, at the southern end, is closer to Brisbane, and Noosa, at the northern end, adds time. Coming down to Brisbane doesn't change the procedure price, though travel, accommodation and time away from work sit outside it.

From Maroochydore it is about 100 km to the clinic by road, via the Sunshine Motorway and the Bruce Highway. Allow about an hour and a quarter in clear traffic, and an hour and a half or more at peak times. The Wickham Terrace Car Park is across the road from the clinic.

If you'd rather not drive, trains from Nambour run through to Central station, opposite the clinic, in about two hours. Rail doesn't reach Maroochydore, so allow about 35 minutes on a bus to Nambour first, and check current timetables before you travel.

You leave with detailed aftercare instructions. Temporary redness, swelling or itchiness may occur in the first weeks and typically settles with time, and shedding is expected as part of the natural hair cycle. A balanced assessment of donor reserves and graft planning

Your donor area is finite and does not renew, so every graft taken from it is spent. We use a refined extraction punch to remove grafts from your donor area with the aim of minimal impact to the surrounding tissue.

Grafts are extracted individually and spread across the area rather than drawn heavily from one region, which aims to keep the donor even and may leave a second procedure possible later, subject to suitability. We aim to balance your donor area with your transplant goals for long-term results.

Precise Follicle Placement

At the placement stage, each graft is placed with a precision placement device that creates the site and places the follicle in one motion, so the angle, depth and direction of every graft are set at the moment of placement rather than by an incision made beforehand.

Our Corrective Hair Transplant Repair Approach

If you are considering corrective work following a previous hair transplant procedure, an in-clinic consultation may assess suitability.

Your in-clinic consultation will first diagnose what went wrong, such as incorrect hairline design, unnatural angulation, poor density, visible scarring or donor depletion. If deemed suitable for a corrective hair transplant, we may use our PFP method to carefully re-graft to support natural-looking results.
