Geelong doesn't have a Gro clinic, so the in-person steps take place at our Docklands clinic in Melbourne. From Torquay, Ocean Grove on the Bellarine or Geelong itself, you can make the first call without leaving home, and your follow-up appointments do not all have to be in person.

The simplest options are the direct train or the car. The train runs from Geelong to Southern Cross Station in a little over an hour, and Lara and Waurn Ponds are on the same line. At Southern Cross, a short ride on the 11 or 48 tram along Collins Street takes you to the end of the line, Victoria Harbour Docklands, where the stop is right outside the clinic.

Driving is about 75 km and takes around an hour, longer at peak times; the clinic details further down this page cover parking. Coming in from Geelong does not change the procedure price, and your travel and time away sit outside it.

Temporary redness, swelling or itchiness may occur in the first weeks and typically settles with time, and shedding is expected as part of the natural hair cycle. How Gro Performs FUE: Our PFP Approach and Natural Hairline Design

Our Gro hair transplant method is known as Precise Follicle Placement (PFP), a refined approach to the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique. PFP involves extracting individual follicles from the donor area and aligning them with the natural angle, direction and spacing of your existing hair. Its aim is natural-looking results that may improve hair density and coverage.

We understand how important the new hairline is, so all hairlines are planned by our doctors. Our process in creating a new natural hairline balances a few factors:

Your hair restoration goals: You will work collaboratively with your doctor on the hairline you have in mind.

Your facial proportions: Your doctor will guide you towards a hairline designed to suit your face.

Any long-term hair loss: Your hairline will be designed with your underlying cause in mind to support your long-term hair restoration plan.

Precise Follicle Placement

At the placement stage, each graft is placed with a precision placement device that creates the site and places the follicle in one motion, so the angle, depth and direction of every graft are set at the moment of placement rather than by an incision made beforehand.

Designed to Minimise Visible Scarring

We use a refined extraction punch to remove grafts from your donor area with the aim of minimal impact to the surrounding tissue. This approach is designed to minimise visible scarring.

A balanced assessment of donor reserves and graft planning

Your donor area is finite and does not renew, so every graft taken from it is spent. Grafts are extracted individually and spread across the area rather than drawn heavily from one region. This aims to keep your donor area even and to protect it for future hair restoration procedures.
