CALL US INSTEADHair Transplant Sydney
Book a free 15-minute discovery call at Gro clinics to discuss our hair transplant procedure. We use a refined approach called Precise Follicle Placement (PFP) to ensure natural-looking results.
At our Sydney AHPRA-registered hair transplant clinic, Dr Adam Cho or Dr Anwar Al-Abedi review your case personally, confirm the plan with you, and perform the procedure. We've built a dedicated clinical and support team around our Australian doctors, so that they can devote their expertise to your personalised treatment plan, procedures and recovery.
Free, no obligation. General questions and next steps, not a medical consultation.
Priced before you decide, not after
Across the Australian Gro Clinics network.
Your plan, procedure and follow-up all happen here
We don't disappear after the day.

Our experienced doctors oversee all PFP hair transplants.
Dr Adam Cho (MED0001200342 - Registered medical practitioner, medical director at Gro clinics) is our leading doctor in Sydney.
Dr Anwar Al-Abedi (MED0002571399 - Registered medical practitioner, general registration) has performed hundreds of procedures and is committed to natural-looking hair restoration.
Your initial discovery call will be with a hair growth advisor, followed by an in-clinic consultation, scalp assessment and a tailored treatment plan.
From there, either Dr Cho or Dr Al-Abedi will be there to finalise your plans, outline your new hairline and complete the procedure.
Your hair transplant is performed by an AHPRA-registered doctor. Your initial discovery call is with a Hair Growth Advisor, and technicians do not perform hair transplants with Gro Clinics.
For a more affordable option, our Melbourne clinic also offer procedures performed by an AHPRA-registered nurse.
Your scalp assessment, hairline design and treatment plan are still completed by your doctor, who oversees the full procedure.
Our Sydney hair transplant doctors have thorough training and many years of experience in the hair transplant industry.
Dr Adam Cho is the medical director of Gro Clinics and a Fellow of the Faculty of Medicine of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery. With a decade of experience in clinical governance, risk management and medical leadership, Dr Cho is focused on achieving sustainable, long-term results.
Dr Anwar Al-Abedi initially refined his skills in the United States. There, he completed a program endorsed by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and developed by some of the world's most renowned hair transplant experts. Dr Al-Abedi is committed to enhancing his patients' appearance and restoring their self-esteem and quality of life.
All our doctors have extensive training in our hair transplant method. Our Precise Follicle Placement (PFP) technique is a refinement of our Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). The process is designed to deliver long-lasting and natural-looking results.

Precise Follicle Placement is our approach to the placement stage. Each graft is placed with a precision placement device that creates the site and places the follicle in one motion, so the angle, depth and direction of every graft are set by your doctor at the moment of placement rather than by an incision made beforehand.
Your donor area is finite and does not renew, so every graft taken from it is spent. Grafts are extracted individually and spread across the area rather than drawn heavily from one region, which keeps the donor even and leaves a second procedure possible later.
Hairlines, crowns and full restorations are planned around how your hair loss is likely to progress, not just how it looks today. Donor preservation sits at the centre of that, because your donor area is finite and does not renew. The aim is a result that still looks natural in ten years, not only in twelve months.
Gro invested more than $500,000 in practitioner training and research and development last year, because maintaining a dedicated focus requires ongoing investment.
Dr Adam Cho, Dr Anwar Al-Abedi and all our Gro Clinics doctors also receive additional training in our approach to follicle placement and consistency of clinical care. We refined a PFP technique to focus on careful planning of follicle placement, with the aim of supporting natural, dense-looking hair. Through this training, we can deliver a more consistent model of care, including support before, during and after your procedure.
Mission
Gro Clinics’ doctors are committed to providing Brisbane clients with trusted expertise and hair restoration treatments to support natural, long-lasting results. Our method goes beyond the procedure itself.
Around our AHPRA-registered doctors sits a team built to support the whole process, before, during and after your procedure:
Hair Restoration Journey
For years, our doctors have aided Australians across the country in their hair restoration journey, providing tailored solutions to balding or thinning hair. Whether it is genetic female hair loss or men losing hair due to lifestyle factors, our locally trained team is here to help you develop new hair growth.
The dedicated clinical team at your local Gro Clinics includes doctors who perform and oversee every hair transplant procedure. Each practitioner follows Gro’s established protocols to ensure patient safety and medical suitability.
Dr. Adam, one of our experienced team members, has performed procedures that collectively involved the transplantation of more than 6 million hairs. While results and suitability vary, each treatment is tailored to the individual and guided by clinical best practices.
All of our staff are locally trained to utilise hair transplant techniques and technology. This includes a refined approach to FUE called Precise Follicle Placement (PFP), designed to focus on precision and consistency during hair restoration procedure.
Individual results and recovery times may vary, but the team will guide you through realistic expectations and their expected process ahead of treatment.

Hair Transplant Doctor
Australian Health Practitioner Regulation AgencyMED0001200342Dr Adam Cho is the Medical Director at Gro Clinics Sydney and has a particular interest in the more complex side of hair restoration, including revision hair transplants, previous FUE or FUT procedures, limited donor availability, and cases requiring careful long-term planning. He approaches every case with the view that donor hair is finite and every graft has long-term value.
His focus is on making careful, honest decisions that protect future options and create results that still make sense years after the procedure.
Hair Transplant Doctor
Australian Health Practitioner Regulation AgencyMED0002571399Dr Anwar Al-Abedi is a medical practitioner based in Sydney, with a background in emergency medicine and hair restoration.
Drawn to the difference hair restoration can make to people's lives, he has focused his work on hair transplantation, with an emphasis on natural, carefully tailored results.

Our hair transplant method is known as Precise Follicle Placement (PFP). It is a refined approach to Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) techniques. PFP involves:
This procedure is minimally invasive and designed to be long-lasting, with minimal visible scarring. The aim is to create natural-looking hair with density and coverage.
Hair restoration looks different for everyone. Get in touch with us to find out what's possible for you.
We understand how important the new hairline is, so all hairlines are planned by our doctors. Our process in creating a new natural hairline balances a few factors:
Your hair restoration goals: You will work collaboratively with your doctor on the hairline you have in mind.
Your facial proportions: Your doctor has the expertise to guide the right hairline to suit your face.
Any long-term hair loss: Your hairline will be designed with your underlying cause in mind to support your long-term hair restoration plan.
The natural ageing process: The hairline will be designed with an aim to suit you today and as you age.
Our hair transplantation method focuses on singular follicular unit extraction and careful placements. We use a refined extraction punch to remove grafts from your donor area with the aim of minimal impact to the surrounding tissue.
Every graft is individually placed using single and multi-implanters, allowing us to control the exact angle, depth, and direction of each follicle. Our doctors are trained internally on this refined approach to FUE, which is designed to minimise visible scarring.
Our approach to minimise visible scarring also aims to protect your donor area for future hair restoration procedures. On your in-clinic consultation, we will do a full scalp health assessment before recommending the number of grafts you may need.
We aim to balance your donor area with your transplant goals for long-term results. This approach is designed to improve hair density and coverage, whilst supporting your existing healthy hair.
If you are considering corrective work following a previous hair transplant procedure, an in-clinic consultation may assess suitability.
Your in-clinic consultation will first diagnose what went wrong, such as incorrect hairline design, unnatural angulation, poor density, visible scarring or donor depletion. If deemed suitable for a corrective hair transplant, we may use our PFP method to carefully re-graft to support natural-looking results.

Recovery
Our customer care continues long after the day of the procedure. Our doctors provide post procedure support with consistent follow-ups to monitor results and symptoms for 18-months post procedure.
The Gro hair transplant method is designed to minimise visible scarring and improve hair density and coverage with gradual improvement over time. However, as the natural hair growth cycle is disrupted during extraction and implantation, experiences during the recovery period may vary.
This temporary shedding phase is called shock loss. It happens to around 60 to 80% of people, usually in the first two to eight weeks after a hair transplant. The follicles remain healthy, and new hair growth may begin around three to four months.
The recovery period may last between 1-6 months, depending on individual factors. During this period, temporary shedding, known as hair transplant shock loss, may occur.
It's a completely normal physiological and stress-induced response that causes the follicles to prematurely enter the resting phase of the growth cycle. The visible hair falls out whilst the root remains intact, and the hair typically returns to a healthy growth cycle.
It may be called shock loss, but with the right guidance and support, your recovery journey won’t come as a shock with our ongoing care.
If you do experience any unusual symptoms, you can contact your clinical team immediately.
We pride ourselves on a personalised model of care, with the aim of supporting natural-looking density, angle and direction.

Your investment
Most procedures fall between $12,000 and $17,000, and two plans in that range can still sit thousands apart, depending on the areas treated, the number of grafts, and your personalised plan.
What we will commit to.
You get an exact figure before you decide anything, in writing, everything included. Nothing appears later that wasn't in that number. Same price, same inclusions, same standard at all our clinics. Weekly payment plans are available.
And if a procedure isn't the right move for you yet, the conversation ends there, not with a quote.

Payment Plans
Hair restoration procedures vary in cost depending on individual needs and clinical recommendations. Gro Clinics offers flexible payment options for eligible patients, with all treatments subject to medical assessment and approval.
Finance options are provided through third-party lenders. Eligibility criteria and approval apply. Payment plans are not a recommendation or endorsement and do not imply treatment suitability or guaranteed outcomes. All treatments are subject to medical assessment.
Local Vs Overseas

Medical tourism can appear attractive at first, with lower upfront costs and package deals, but the full experience usually involves more than just the procedure.
A local clinic in Brisbane operates under strict Australian healthcare standards and provides the benefits of accessible, ongoing support throughout your hair restoration experience. Having your team nearby, in your own country, means that we can support you, arrange easy follow-ups and are accessible for your questions whenever you need us.
Doctor Perspective:
Now, for me, a hair transplant isn't a one-off event. It's two years surrounding it. You're not going to get that overseas.
You'll be seen on one day, sent back to Australia and be forgotten about. I've seen enough people who have travelled overseas and come back, the hair transplant hasn't gone as expected, and they can be very difficult to treat afterwards, because their donor, the area that we need to take hair from, has been brought to the point that repairing is difficult to impossible.
When you travel overseas for your transplant, you will also have to consider hidden costs and logistics.
Flights from Australia to Thailand or Turkey can cost around $1,500, and then you will need to add accommodations, insurance, transfers, visas and time from work. A hair transplant is a long-term decision, and must be carefully planned.
Choosing local care gives you time for detailed consultations, more personalised treatment planning, and more accessible, continued support as your results develop.
We're located just a short walk from Town Hall Station, making it easy to access in-person consultations and reach your procedure and aftercare support.
We are an experienced hair restoration clinic, with a decade of results across the country. We take that depth of experience with us to every procedure we perform.
We've refined our approach to single-follicle extraction over 10+ years, delivering denser hair while reducing visible scarring at donor sites and avoiding overharvesting.
Every hairline is personally planned and performed by doctors, not delegated to technicians. In Sydney, you'll be dealing with a seasoned hair transplant doctor from start to finish.
Our procedures are mapped to your facial structure, age and growth pattern. Our goal is to give you a hairline that works with your natural growth pattern.
Structured payment options available so cost won't keep you from the results you want. Options can be discussed during your consultation.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Answers are general in nature and don't replace medical advice. Outcomes vary.
Yes, all of our hair transplant procedures require a consultation to assess your medical history, hair health and suitability. We start with a free 15-minute discovery call before scheduling a consultation and scalp health assessment.
You may be suitable if you have:
We assess your general health and medical history and perform a scalp assessment before determining suitability.
The hair growth doctor will determine how many hair grafts you'll need based on several factors. They'll assess the size of your bald or thinning areas, your hair thickness, the hair and scalp health of your donor area and your hair restoration goals. They'll also factor in your age, medical history and underlying factors to give you a thorough recommendation.
Yes, your input is a key part of the hairline process. Whilst our doctor will have the expertise to guide the process to a natural, long-lasting result, you will work together to define your goals.
Precise Follicle Placement (PFP) method is Gro Clinic's refined approach to FUE hair transplants. It follows the same individual extraction technique as FUE hair transplants, but follows a careful method to place follicles in the natural angle and direction of your hair growth. It's designed to minimise visible scarring and natural-looking results.
Follicular unit extraction (FUE) involves individual grafts being removed one‑by‑one with small punches and no linear scar.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) involves removing a strip of scalp to dissect into grafts for transplantation. It leaves a linear scar.
Gro Clinics do not perform FUT hair transplants.
Yes, all Gro Clinics doctors across Australia are AHPRA-registered. To be AHPRA-registered, health practitioners may need to demonstrate they have a medical degree, registration as a doctor or specialised postgraduate training.
You may discuss your preferred doctor during your discovery call. Availability depends on the clinic, appointment dates and your individual treatment plan, and our team will confirm the options available before you book.
Medical tourism may appear attractive due to lower upfront costs, but the full experience involves more than the procedure itself. A local clinic in Australia operates under Australian healthcare standards and provides the benefit of accessible, ongoing support throughout your hair restoration journey. From your initial discovery call to your procedure and recovery, having your care team nearby means you may easily ask questions, attend follow-ups, and access support when you need it.
Travelling overseas for a hair transplant also involves additional costs and logistics. Flights from Australia to destinations such as Turkey or Thailand may cost around $1,500, before considering accommodation, insurance, transfers, visas, and additional time away from work.
A hair transplant is a long-term decision, and careful planning is essential. Choosing local care allows time for detailed consultations, personalised treatment planning, and continued support as your results develop.
Hair transplants are designed for long-lasting results. As the donor hair follicles are taken from healthier areas of your scalp, they may be more resistant to the hormone responsible for pattern baldness (DHT). The aim is for these follicles to improve hair density and coverage in the transplanted area.
Individual experiences vary, and hair transplants do not stop the natural ageing process.
Hair transplants are considered cosmetic surgery and are generally not covered under Medicare. However, if your hair transplant is needed as a result of trauma, burns or specific medical conditions, it may be eligible for a medicare rebate under the reconstructive surgery classification. Check the Medicare site or consult with your doctor or dermatologist.
Our hair transplants are designed for natural-looking results. We developed a Precise Follicle Placement (PFP) technique, which is a refined approach to the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique. The minimally invasive procedure is designed to be long-lasting, with minimal visible scarring. Its aim is natural-looking results that may improve hair density and coverage.
Yes, depending on underlying conditions and suitability. We create personalised treatment plans and only recommend combined procedures suited for your hair health and restoration goals.
Yes, we may recommend prescription haircare alongside a hair transplant to support the survival and recovery of transplanted hair. However, prescription haircare may need to be paused for up to 2 weeks after your hair transplant to allow your scalp to heal.
Prescription haircare treatments are available following a consultation with a doctor to assess suitability.
