Recovery is usually quicker and more comfortable than most people expect. You can go home the same day, and any mild tenderness or swelling typically settles within a few days. Tiny scabs form around the transplanted grafts and naturally flake away over 7–10 days. Most people are back to their normal routine within a day or two, with only a few simple aftercare steps — gentle washing, avoiding strenuous exercise, and keeping the area out of direct sun for the first couple of weeks. Your team will give you a clear, step-by-step aftercare plan and stay in touch throughout your healing.
Look for a doctor who performs hair restoration regularly, can show you real before-and-after results from their own patients, and takes the time to assess your hair properly rather than rushing to a quote. A good practitioner will be honest about what's realistically achievable, explain the technique they recommend and why, and answer your questions without pressure.
